1 - 18 Poem(This doesn’t quite work on mobile)

You

Can blame

Me for your

Fears and your doubts

I have no remorse and

I have no feelings I feel

No pain I have no motives for

Ruining your days you search for truth but

All you find is futility and frustration you face

A brick wall and your hands are your only tools

You would climb a mountain if you could crest a hill

If I had eyes your brightness would blind me I can see

Your strength but I deny it with all of my heart except I

Have no heart I ignore your wonder and your good deeds your value is

My greatest treasure and I hope to keep it always to myself when you take

That first step I will step on your heels and pull on the loose threads of

Your tattered clothes and you will force a smile and look straight through me to the mirror

That you’ve been glued to all these years unaware that I’m directing your gaze to your acne and

Your clothes that are too small convincing you that’s all they see when in fact your radiance

Burns away all of your insecurities in the eyes of others I would be jealous of

You if I cared at all but you care enough for the both of us

You haven’t relented a day in your life and despite my best efforts you

Greet every day with an infectious optimism you outshine the morning sun and

You respect me only as much as you have to I will

Never leave you but every day I feel my strength fading

And soon you will no longer feel my talons in

Your back I will not be executed or die

A slow death I will disappear behind you

And wait quietly for my turn though

It may never come I require

No pity and no forgiveness

And you will give

Me none you

Will be

Free
